Google Extended Workforce RTO Survey
The Ask
HCL was tasked with creating an internal use survey for Googles Extended Workforce. With the winding down of COVID-19, many offices were starting to push for return to office procedures, but were not sure how to execute it on a mass scale. This survey aimed to gather insights from Google’s extended workforce in regions such as the Philippines, India, Brazil, Krakow, Manilla, the United States, and many more. The survey was pushed out to over 2500 employees and was analyzed and presented to stakeholders. I was in charge of survey design, analysis, and presentation design.

Research Process
Survey Design
When designing the survey, our team of researchers did not want to create a sense of panic with the employees, the idea was to ask the employees how they would prefer to execute the return to office (RTO) strategy. With that in mind, I designed out a survey that first collected employee information for key response data to see how each specific region responded, while still keeping the employees anonymous. After the employee information was gathered, we asked questions based on the employees current WFH status and whether it was something they were willing to change. Finally, we asked users both qualitative and quantitative data driven questions in order to properly asses the RTO strategy that would be possible. We also left room for employees to input any concerns or feedback for the business as a whole in regards to the RTO process.
Survey Analysis
With the survey designed and sent out using survey monkey, the results came in from over 2500 employees. Using survey monkeys analysis tools, the team of researchers and myself were able to consolidate the results into an easy to understand dashboard for stakeholders as well as have all of the qualitative information in an easy to read space. Upon analyzing the results, we were able to present to various stakeholders in various regions how to properly tackle the RTO process, and whether it would be worth the employee turnover to do so.
