DHCS County Portal & AI Review Insights
California counties needed a way to request Prop 1 funding while DHCS needed a way to track how that funding was used, all while staying HIPAA compliant. I led research with county users, translated state policy into usable workflows, and built the design system the whole platform runs on.

I helped restructure the site's core pathways, built out a fully WCAG-compliant component library, and owned the design of a new AI chat assistant meant to guide users through complex coverage decisions.

Training an AI is normally a technical task. This platform needed to work for marketers and senior engineers alike. I interviewed across both groups, then designed a simplified training interface and a searchable marketplace so trapped institutional knowledge could actually get shared instead of staying locked in one person's head.
